Nurturing the Next Generation of Skating Talent
The Future Stars program at the Brant Figure Skating Club is designed for skaters at the Star 1-3 level who are ready to take their skills to the next level. This program combines on-ice and off-ice training to help skaters build a strong foundation while also developing their independence and confidence. Future Stars is ideal for those who are committed to improving their skating, learning new routines, and taking on challenges in a supportive and structured environment.
Program Features
Star 1-3 Level: Tailored for skaters progressing through the Star 1-3 levels.
Skating Frequency: Skaters participate in 1-3 sessions per week.
Solo/Program Development: Skaters learn a solo/program designed to enhance their skills and encourage independent practice.
Competitions: Skaters compete in club competitions and may also participate in one additional local event.
Flashing Blades: Included as part of the program.
Regular Testing: Skaters are tested regularly by coaches to monitor progress and set new goals.
Off-Ice Classes: 1-2 off-ice classes per week are strongly recommended to support overall development.
Session Breakdown
On-Ice Training:
10 min Warm-Up
10 min Group Instruction
10 min Group Instruction
10 min Independent Practice of Drills (Supervised)
10 min Group Instruction
Off-Ice Training:
20 min Off-Ice Instruction
Fee Structure
Group Instruction Fees:
Fees are structured to cover 50 minutes of group instruction during prime ice time, plus 20 minutes of off-ice instruction.
Coaching Compensation:
Coaches are paid by the club for group instruction.
Private Lessons:
While private lessons are available, semi-private or group lessons are encouraged and preferred for this program.
Additional Costs:
Fees for tests may be paid through Uplifter.
Flashing Blades program is included in the overall fees.
