Regional Stars
A Flexible Pathway to Skating Success
At the Brant Figure Skating Club, we understand that every skater has unique goals and needs. Our Regional Track is designed to provide a balanced and flexible approach for those who want to enjoy skating while still working towards achievements in tests, competitions, and skill development. Whether you're a beginner or advancing in your skating journey, this track offers the perfect blend of structure and freedom, allowing skaters to progress at their own pace without the intense commitment required for competitive streams.
Program Features
Any Level: Suitable for skaters at any stage of their skating journey.
Skating Frequency: Skaters participate in 1-2 sessions per week.
Competitions: Skaters compete in club competitions and may also participate in one other local event.
Focus Areas: Emphasis on Skate Canada tests, StarSkate, and Flashing Blades programs.
Off-Ice Classes: No off-ice classes are required, making it easier to balance skating with other commitments.
Private Lessons: Available upon request, ranging from $20 to $60 per week. Private lessons are optional, not mandatory.

Fee Structure
Group Instruction Fees:
Fees are structured to cover 30 or 40 minutes of group instruction, depending on the session length.
Prime ice time is reserved for group instruction.
Coaching Compensation:
Coaches are compensated by the club for group instruction.
Private Lessons:
Private or semi-private lessons are available from both base and support coaches upon request.
While private lessons are available, they are not required for participation.
Note: Skaters without private lessons or a base coach will not take Skate Canada tests.
Additional Costs:
Flashing Blades program is included.
Club competition fees are an additional cost.
Senior Regional Stars
Skating for Skill and Enjoyment
The Senior Regional program at the Brant Figure Skating Club is perfect for skaters who have advanced beyond the Star 1-4 or Junior Bronze levels and are looking to continue skating for recreational purposes. This program is designed for those who want to refine their skills and enjoy time on the ice without the intense focus on competition. Whether you’re maintaining your abilities or just skating for the love of it, Senior Regional offers a balanced approach to skill development and recreation.
Program Features
Recreational Focus: Tailored for skaters who wish to continue improving their skills in a more relaxed and enjoyable environment.
Skill Level: Designed for skaters who have passed Star 1-4 or Junior Bronze levels.
Flexible Learning: Combines structured group lessons with independent, supervised practice, allowing skaters to progress at their own pace.
Session Breakdown
On-Ice Training:
10-Minute Group Skills Warm-Up: Start with a focused warm-up to prepare for skill development.
30-Minute Free Skate/Independent Learning: Skaters practice skills independently with supervision to ensure proper technique and safety.
10-Minute Group Lesson: Conclude with a group lesson to reinforce techniques and introduce new elements.
Fee Structure
Group Instruction Fees:
Fees cover 20 minutes of group instruction during prime ice time, providing high-quality training at convenient times.
Coaching Compensation:
Coaches are compensated by the club for the group instruction provided during sessions.
Private Lessons:
Skaters can arrange private lessons through their base or support coaches for additional personalized instruction.
Additional Costs:
Flashing Blades program is available at an additional cost.
Tests are paid through Uplifter, with coaches guiding skaters and parents through the process.
